Welcome to Heart to Heart Aviaries. My name is Tonda, I am located in Lima Ohio. I am a hobby breeder  of lady gouldian finches, greens (normals), yellows, and dilutes. I have society finches including the crested cuties. I have many zebra finch mutations as well, crested, black breasted, Florida fancy, black cheeks, fawns, phaoes, penguins and  orange breasted.  I have  shaftails,  and red headed and yellow headed star finches. On this site I will be sharing with you my experiences of taking care of finches. Through the years I have discovered that there is no one way of raising finches, no right or wrong, everyone does it different. Which is what can make raising these little beauties such a challenge at times. You just have to raise your finches how it works for you.

I have been raising and breeding finches for  13 years and in the last year have  started breeding and hand feeding cockatiels and parrotlets. These beautiful little creatures are my passion.  I am a hobby breeder that believes in providing the best care and environment for my birds.  I raise my birds in large aviary flights and for specialized breeding I have larger breeding cages. They are fed a fresh vitamin fortified seed mix, homemade birdie cornbread that is chocked full of veggies, eggs, eggshells, vitamins and other nutritional ingredients. They are given homemade egg food, and many veggies such as corn on and off the cob, peas, broccoli, spinach, carrots, squash, and romaine lettuce and of course fresh water. I have tried several different kinds of vegetables and these are the ones that my birds prefer. Although I am always trying different fruits and veggies to add variety to their diet.
